Team USA recently appeared at Raptor Bowl IV, a lawn bowling event to benefit the University of Minnesota Raptor Center. The Raptor Center specializes in the medical care, rehabilitation, and conservation of eagles, hawks, owls, and falcons. Volunteers and staff from the Raptor Center had many birds on hand for the event. It was quite an experience seeing these majestic birds up close and learning about them.
The lawn bowling competition featured a tournament of celebrities including Team USA. Team USA was split up and assigned to separate teams (maybe the organizers figured curlers would catch on too quickly to the weighted balls that kind of curl!). It won’t surprise you to learn that the team that included John Shuster won the celebrity tournament! There was some intense competition among the teammates including a tie breaker round to get to the finals!
It was a beautiful afternoon up top of Brits Pub in downtown Minneapolis. The team enjoyed meeting new people, learning to lawn bowl, and helping to benefit the Raptor Center. Check out the photos from the event!
